It is possible for us to change the world!!!!!!!!
You know, I look at people who have gone before us, who changed the world as we know it... Luther, Martin Luther King Jr, Graham, Mandela, Theresa, Hitler, Lenin, Pol Pot, Ghandi... These all created a shift in people's minds and in the history books. Some for evil, some for good. I look at their world and ask myself this one question; what is so different about their world than to that of ours??? My observation has led me to answer that question with a massive NOTHING!!!!! Same challenges, same problems, same loneliness, same sin and same solution, same God.
I want to leave this thought with you and ask you to comment on it...
What is hindering us in making OUR GENERATION the generation that will be remembered and written about in history books forever???
I would love to hear your thoughts because I have never been consumed with such a conviction that if we wake up to what God has placed inside of us, WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD FOR THE BETTER! It is said about David in the Bible that "...he served his generation..." Let's serve ours!
Let me hear what you think...............

I think it totally is dude but I dont think that anyone has had the same conviction that these people have had, I think that theres those of us that have had an increadibly strong conviction but not near the same. If Jesus changed the world and He said we're gonna do greater miricles than He did through His name, then why cant we?! Like you quoted from that communist guy on Friday nyt, "Give me the youth of a generation and Ill change the world" (I think thats what you said but I could be a bit off in my memory), you couldnt just come up with that in a 5minute planning session on how to change the world just quickly before you decided to do it, thats passion and conviction that gets stried up over years, I think the question is, how far are we willing to go, and how much are we willing to sacrifice? people would say "what ever it takes" but if it cost them their lives(by that I mean not having one other than following through on their convictions, not death) would they still do it? all those people that you talked about didnt have a life of their own, what they did was what they did, day in and day out, there was no party time, there was no "me time", they weren't just sold out for what they believed in, they gave up their lives for it... when we wake up in the morning our first thoughts go along the line of.... 5more minutes, or, what am I gonna have for breakfast, or, whats the weather like today... I bet those dudes were like, if only I got up 5min earlier maybe I could have spoken to 1 more person, or, how many people's spirits am I gonna feed with what I have in my hand today, or, I hope I can find something to wear quick enough so I dont waste time worrying about what I look like so I can get out there and changes lives (even of it wasnt for the best of reasons).
Thats the sort of conviction and revelation that gets people to that level (Am I writing this? far out!) thats my thoughts but shut me down if im worng...

We're SOOOO gonna change the world! If we would stand up and be counted instead of standing on the sidelines of life, and run the race that is life with all we've got, going hard for God and loving Him, and then from that loving the lost and believing that Christ through us WILL change the world, then it's fully on!
Saturday night when you talked about this, it was such a revelation... and through this morning during the last session that I was at love that, it was evident that this generation is willing and determined to make a stand! The faith that filled the sports hall was incredible and Mel could have talked about baking a cake and everyone would have cheered loudly and worshipped passionately and loved God all the more.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that this generation is still facing the same problems as the generations before us. This is what hinders. This is what robs so many of their dreams.... but I think, more than ever, people are rising up, charging into battle, being warriors, overcoming and daring to dream big! It is such a testament to God as I see so many people choosing life and choosing Him and daring to be different and to leave oily footprints everywhere they go.
There are so many examples of overcomers in past generations, which you referred to. And I think these people are inspirations to young people in this generation. That more than ever, they are realising people have made a difference before so why can't they make a difference too! I know that, especially in the salvos, the youth are now being encouraged to rise up, they are being resourced in order to be equipped, and they are being supported by older people who choose to invest into their lives and the unlimited potential seen within them.

Is it possible for us to change the world? I guess that question is always directed by the devil (haha not you Thomas- you'll catch my drift in a second).. Cause you see there is a certain limit and boundary that is brought by that question.. "Is it possible? Is it possible?" we ask ourselves. All of a sudden there are limitations in peoples thoughts.. All of a sudden people begin to doubt What God can do..
Because you see God asks us the question- is it NOT possible for you to change the world? When you step out, stand firm in the faith, cling to the Word, and stand on your conviction, there is only ONE option- the Holy Ghost, working through us, draws men to God! Hallelujah

"Every man is a missionary, now and forever, for good or for evil, whether he intends or designs it or not. He may be a blot radiating his dark influence outward to the very circumference of society, or he may be a blessing spreading benediction over the length and breadth of the world." --Thomas Chalmers
